Selected engagements

The work is active. The claims remain honest.

These founding engagements show how Unborrowed works across its two practices. One platform is live; the other is being assembled. Performance results will be published only when they exist.

Illyse Kaplan

Nonprofit development executive

A nonprofit development executive with more than three decades of experience translated a substantial operating record into a distinct consulting and interim practice—and an owned platform for her next professional chapter.

The engagement defined the problems she is uniquely qualified to solve, then built the narrative, offer architecture and digital presence required to enter the market independently.

“Prior to Michael-Christopher developing my website, I had no way of quantifying my more than three decades of non-profit experience or articulating how I could use that experience to help non-profits meet their mission through consulting and interim work.”

Friends of Art & Design High School

Nonprofit supporting Art & Design High School · New York City

A scholarship organization with meaningful history and deep community roots is preparing for a 2026–2027 relaunch. The active engagement is recovering the institutional story, clarifying the case for support and identifying the audiences the next version of the organization must activate. That foundation will guide the identity, platform, alumni pathways and donation infrastructure—not the other way around.

What is being assembled

Assembled. Platform in progress

Engagement scope

  • Strategic assessment
  • Positioning and messaging
  • Brand identity
  • Owned digital platform
  • Alumni engagement pathways
  • Donation Engine v1 development
  • Launch planning

How the work is documented

Evidence before applause.

  1. 01

    Document the before.

We establish the starting condition: the perception gap, fragmented assets, missing infrastructure and unrealized opportunity.

  2. 02

    Define the intervention.

We record the strategic choices behind the visible work—what changed in positioning, narrative, identity, technology and audience pathways, and why.

  3. 03

    Measure the after.

After launch, we look for defensible evidence appropriate to the engagement rather than inventing a transformation in advance.

A note on outcomes

Illyse Kaplan’s platform is live. FAD’s new institutional platform and Donation Engine are not live. “In progress” means exactly that.

What you have built deserves a platform of its own.
